🤒 Be Thankful for Symptoms

November is a season of gratitude, a time to slow down, reflect, and give thanks. But what if this month, we practiced being thankful for something most of us try to avoid…symptoms.
It might sound strange at first. After all, who wants to be thankful for headaches, fatigue, or bloating? But the truth is, symptoms are not your enemy. They’re your body’s way of trying to communicate with you, it’s way of waving a red flag to let you know something isn’t right.
When you feel nauseous or bloated after eating, your body isn’t just being inconvenient. It may actually be signaling that your stomach needs more acid to break down food properly, a condition known as hypochlorhydria. That bloating is your body’s way of saying, “Hey, I need a little help down here!”
Or maybe you’re struggling with fatigue during the day, can’t fall asleep at night, your hair is thinning, and no matter what you do, you can’t seem to lose weight. Those symptoms might be pointing toward your thyroid, the little gland in your neck that plays a big role in energy, metabolism, and hormone balance.
But even then, that’s not the end of the story. The real question becomes: why is your thyroid struggling? Is it because your body is low in iodine or vitamin D? Or could it be that your brain is unable to communicate properly with your thyroid leading to it functioning without clear direction.
That’s where chiropractic care comes in.
During a chiropractic visit, you are always asked about your symptoms. The reason for this is not to chase the symptom you are experiencing, but to look deeper. To find the root cause.
Your body is an incredible, intelligent system that’s constantly working to heal and balance itself. When communication in your nervous system is clear, your organs, glands, and tissues can do what they’re designed to do — function at their best.
Chiropractic adjustments help restore that communication by removing interference between your brain and body. And once that happens, symptoms often begin to fade because the cause of the problem is being addressed, not just the effect.
Your body is meant to be healthy. When you listen to what it’s asking for and give it the care it needs, it will THANK YOU!
